Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s BAM! Body and Mind
BAM! Body and Mind will tell you everything you need to know about all of the stuff that matters. Whether it’s nutrition, physical activity, stress, safety, or diseases, they’ve got you covered! We designed this specifically for you — kids 9–12 years old— and even have some awesome games and quizzes to test your skills!

Platte County Back to School Fair
The Platte County Back to School Fair was founded by the Platte County Health Department in 1999 and it has continued to provide resources to low-income family to increase school readiness. This website provides information about who they are, how to donate and get connected, and registration information.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services 
A resource hub for individuals of all ages. Where you can learn about living a healthy lifestyle, senior and disability services, licensing and regulations for facilities and services, disaster and emergency planning and data and statistic information.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services ConnectWithMe Cards 
DHSS provides an online version of ConnectWithMe Cards, a conversation tool to help families connect and discuss hard subjects (body image, substances, relationships, mental health, etc.).

United States Environmental Protection Agency: Asthma
The EPA provides information and resources about how you can learn about asthma, spot the triggers of asthma, and create awareness. They also have a link that allows you to learn about programs across the country that help improve the lives of those with asthma and reduce health care costs.

AAP’s website helps assists pediatric health providers’ work with early education and child care providers to improve the health and well-being of children. This website includes a checklist for parents to use when choosing child care, resources for pediatric health care providers, resources for early education and child care professionals, and safe sleep procedures for babies.

Missouri DHSS provides a facility search generator which allows a parent to research child care providers – such as Family Homes, Group Homes, Child Care Centers, and License Exempt Programs. This generator provides the facility name, address, phone, email, hours of operations, license effective and expiration dates, reports, etc.

MOCSA is an organization that exists to help victims become survivors. They offer a 24 hour crisis hotline, free-of-charge counseling, education in schools, and education in the community.

CSPI offers science-based advice about how to eat a balanced diet. Not only do they offer information about what to eat and what to avoid, but they also share information about ingredients of concern, foodborne illness, and even chemical cuisine.

MyPlate is a reminder to find your healthy eating style and build it throughout your lifetime. MyPlate uses an easy visual representation of how to portion your meals to make ensure you are getting enough of each food group when you are preparing your plate. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Eat Right website may look like a nutrition focused website, but it also offers great resources about physical activity as well. Under the “Fitness” section, you can learn the benefits of physical activity, family activities, foods to eat before and after workouts, and proper hydration.

MyPlate also offers physical activity information on their website. You can learn about what physical activity is, why it is important, and tips for increasing physical activity for everyone in your family. DHSS works with nine opioid summits in Missouri in order to help combat opioid abuse.
