The Environmental Health staff evaluates private home water supplies for safety as requested by lending institutions or homeowners. The construction of the water supply system is evaluated before samples are collected. Water samples are delivered to the State Public Health Laboratory in Jefferson City.
The lab is capable of performing numerous water tests, including bacteriological analysis and nitrates. When private water supplies are incapable of producing potable water, the staff provides expertise regarding available water treatment systems.
