About

The Platte County Health Department is a local public health department created to protect the health of all people in Platte County. This is done through various programs and services. The health department is governed by a five-member elected board of trustees that meets monthly. The health department is funded through a local tax levy, which provides more than 60 percent of the department's revenue. Other funding sources include contractual agreements, grants and fees for services.

The mission of the Platte County Health Department is to ensure conditions that promote and protect health and equity, prevent disease and improve the quality, safety and length of life of all who live, work and play in Platte County.
